I don't see anything wrong in wanting to date someone with the same belief systems as you, religious, moral, political, whatever. It's personal preference.

It would be surprising to find out in that situation as opposed to private conversation.
I don't think I could be with an athiest for long term. I don't consider myself devout bc I am too skeptical to subscribe to anything fully but I am still a believer so I need some level of spirituality and faith. It's actually been extremely easy to find ppl who feel the same way as me so it's no big deal. I believe God is real so I need my mate to believe in the possibility...it's not the same thing as debating the existence of aliens or whether 2pac was really that great.
I guess I am an agnostic Christian, so I need another.

Unfortunately, I know far too many "religious" people like this but I believe in God and help people when I can.

Also, I don't see how people can say what all religious people do and what all atheist do. A good point is never made by generalizing. Especially generalizing based on anecdotal evidence.

I would considered myself to be Agnostic theist as well and would date someone who was atheist. I date only those who are probably agnostic in nature , not devout atheist or christians.

I couldnt date a serious thumper although i did mess with someone who was highly religious. I cant stand when any religious person think I need to be fixed or try to say i am a person of god but I just dont know or want to accept it yet. Of the believers Ive come in contact with both for dating or friends they all had established ideas of what a non-believer would be like. Not sure why some felt it would be shocking that a non believer like myself would or could be nice, caring and respectful . Others cant trust a person who "has nothing that holds their morality accountable"
Do and date whats comfortable and what works for you.
PS an atheist doesnt believe in a god or the devil...

I'm a believer but if I found out my date was atheist, it wouldn't matter to me. I have sympathy for non-believers. Plus, I go to church for the music too.

Lol some ppl base everything they learn in church...go figure that the info is biased.
Ps I don't want a church going agnostic theist/Christian. My church quota for the yr is like 3-4 appearances.
