what?  wth?  why?Confused

yeah I realized it doesn't have to

but why give up financial information and run credit checks if only one income is being considered?

Here you can't put someone on the house just because you feel like it

Both names, they'll run you both and the application is in both names

Unless of course you aren't going Dutch on a house

Lol

I'm still laughing .. bhm is such a bizarre place sometimes

and if the woman's credit sucks you don't even want to her to be apart of the process

who wants a higher rate just so both names can be on the home (if done in the beginning of the home buying process)?

but in that case it would be best to wait until the closing then add their name

"although you should not add another borrower to the mortgage, you can add an owner to the deed at closing. If an owner appears on the deed and not the mortgage, she will have ownership rights without the responsibility of repaying the debt. The mortgage assigns payment responsibility, while the deed conveys ownership."

this probably happens often.... not something I thought about before

well if the non financial contributor persons credit sucks then ok...lol

but like you said there are still ways to ensure that the non financial contributor person still has ownership interest in the house...
