Well it fukccing pissed me off!
The lack of logic to some of these post is incredible! And very twisted and STUPID!
Some of ya'll should still be sitting at the back of the bus!
What the hospital did was VIOLATE her civil rights. If you think that's ok, then you are undeserving of any of the rights that our people DIED for!

Just imagine what that regresses into if we give way to those kind of demands.
A midwife and customized private service at home was just the thing this coupled needed.
If they chose not to go that route then....

That's my whole point. They are paying for a service, if the service could be provided, I don't see a problem. A person should be able to pick and choose who provides their care, given they are paying for the care.

That is BULL SHYT. In the medical business, you don't always get that choice, nor should you! Which would you prefer, the stupid unethical new grad, or the nurse with 25 years who knows wtf they are doing, and are assigned to you based on level of care and experience?

And there's no precedent for this. Even in housing you can request a roommate of the same sex but only if you're going to be sharing a bathroom. But you can never request a specific race.

I still see know problem with them going to the hospital if there were staff to accommodate their request. They just should have done it differently. If I want my kid in a class room with a black teacher, I am not going to go about it the way they did. I'd just say, I wan't Mrs/Mr. so and so to teach my child. If I don't want a white woman to do my hair, I am not going to say, "I don't want whites to do it" I"d jus point to and pick who I want. Restaurant, "Sit me in her section" Doctor, "I want another doctor/nurse" until I got what I wanted." I wouldn't have waited to the due date to figure it all out. That sh*t would have been planned months in advance.

That douche dad should have been told to take his baby to an all white hospital, if he can find one, and given his walking papers! My money supports hospitals too! And if he had a problem, the nurses should have filed safe harbor re his child, and he should have been banned from the hospital as a hostile threat to the nursing staff. Ya'll can miss me with the my money, my choice bs, cause chances are he ain't paying the bill any damn way!

I guess I am the only person on BHM that's ever asked for race specific staff. lol
They don't have to stop hiring. If the request can't be made, a simple: "While we try to accommodate and consider all of our patients needs, this request can not be fulfilled at this time."
But if the request can be made, awesome customer service.
