I recently cut all my hair.Ive found that my hair is extremely dry and brittle and breaks like crazy. i would love any suggestions for conditioner and moisturizers for my hair
It's pretty hard to suggest things because everyone's hair is different - what works for me will not necessarily work for you. That being said, maybe you should visit this thread: http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=278442&title=hair-product-review-thread
It has tons of reviews on products that many members have used.
In my experience, water has always been the best moisturizer. I would mist my hair with some and then seal it in with some argan oil, coconut oil or shea butter. Maybe you should do a hot oil treatment and then follow that by a moisturizing DC.
Here's my current list of items (I tend to stick to all natural products if I can):
Leave-in: Giovanni Direct Leave-in (diluted in water and mixed with glycerin, 10 drops of lavender, 10 drops of peppermint oil & some jojoba oil).
Deep Moisture Treatment: MOP Extreme Moisture - it works well, but it contains parabens so I will not be using it again.
Conditioner: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration - my hair ridiculously loves this conditioner, it provides great slip but it seems that the formula was recently changed in the US and it now contains sodium hydroxide.
I've heard great things about Redken Extreme Anti-Snap leave-in and Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship leave-in. Aussie Moist is supposed to be a good conditioner as well.
