yayyyyyyyy Nigerian Queen is back. I bookmarked your fotki last year for some help. I'm back in the loc'n game once again
Okay my update. I relocked total 6 times this is the FINAL TIME.
I started out with two strands years ago didn't like it took them out
restarted back to back still didn't like them. I started my journey
again two strands still didn't like them my roots are to thick for the
two strands they will not stay in place, I went with comb coils FAIL
finger coils FAIL. Now Sunday I put in some braidlocs. I really love
them however kind of scared in terms of interlocking them. I don't know
if I should wait till my braids grow into locs are just interlock them
month in or when they get frizzy.
So I have braidlocks count should be around 150

Well, I havent been on BHM for aaaaaaaaaaages! I transitioned from relaxed to natural... then after all that hard work and perseverance... i texturized *fail*.
Started rocking two strand twists, and after a year or more of that I decided to start locking my roots. Love it! All i can think is... what took me soo long? Ha Ha! :0)

I have been struggling starting my locs. I started the first time with comb coils, but they were a bit bigger than I wanted them. So i started over and made them smaller. They looked pretty good but then I went swimming. Even with a swim cap on, my hair got wet and my starter locs were ruined. I waited about a month before starting once again. This time I started with two strand twists and I really like them! Ive had them in for almost 4 weeks! I am so excited to go through this process and watching my hair change!!!

its been 8 months since i had a perm and I've been rockin my locs for almost 5 months now...its been a little tough...some days i see women with long flowy hair and i miss my weaves...somedays i look in the mirror and think that i look like a man:/...but my hairs never been this thick before...especially in the back....when i did the BC...i could barely grip my hair...and now i think if i took my baby dreads out i would have a mini afro:) and some of my hair is starting to loc..can't wait to see how much its grown by the end of the year!!

I freaking love my locs. I waited until I was GOOD and ready. I used to change my hair all the time. I've done it all. Natural, relaxer long, relaxer short, weave, semi-weave, lace fronts, braids, twists, twa, fro. I wanted my hair, without the tangles and constant protective styling. I wanted the thickness. I wanted the texture. I got it all in my locs. I don't know how long I'll keep them. I got them as a gift to myself for becoming a nurse. I'm working towards nurse practitioner so at least until then. I love this loc'd life!

I dreamt last night that I had loose, pressed natural hair. It was really long and "thin" compared to my hair now. I kept petting it and running my fingers through it. I was in a locker room of all places (I think because when I had loose pressed natural hair I was in high school and played a ton of sports maybe?) Anyhow, I woke up and the first thing I did was remove my loc soc and go to the mirror
