Topic: Essential wholesale bulk hair product reviews ^.^ Posted: Feb 26 2013 at 6:36pm |
Okay so for those of you that don't know, Essential wholesale sales bulk sizes bases. Just like ingredientstodiefor they have bulk hair care bases that many smaller hair companies buy, repackage, scent and sell.
I have plenty of reviews of many products from ingredientstodiefor, there are also more on naturallycurly from a lot of users. But not so many on essentialwholesale.
Some brands that use their bases are brendita body works, the beemine avocado conditioner is a base as well, afroveda, and many others.
I had a lot of trouble finding reviews for their hair products off their website so I just decided to look for reviews on brendita's products since they are the same lol ^^
Anyways I'm making this thread for anyone who is googling looking for EW reviews...they will have somewhere to read reviews besides their website reviews. And if anyone has bought their products feel free to add your reviews aswell. ^^
I ordered a bunch of products from them. Some 16oz, 1lb bentonite clay, and a ton of samples.
So far I just did a clay treatment yesterday. I've done them before so I wont bother reviewing that. My hair was soft, cleansed, and detangled as it always turns out with bentonite clay. :)
I usually use one shampoo to ensure I get all the clay off my scalp, this time I used..
Shampoo & Conditioner in 1
My first impression:: Spreads nicely, I didn't need a lot of it to spread all over my head like I seem to need with my shea moisture shampoo. It's thick but it pours out easily. The pH of the product is the same as hair, my hair didn't become raised and tangled after. But I will need to re-use on a normal wash day to really give a good review on it. This is just my initial impression, I like it.
I then used my aphogee two minute, and after deep conditioned.
I used the Essential Wholesale Hair Masque
My first impression:: Not very slippery, perfectly pH balanced for hair, my hair was very soft after rinsing but I can't give an accurate review because my hair was still reaping the benfits of the clay treatment, will use again in a few days after a normal wash, and DC.
The masque is runny but not thin, it looks like a semi-translucent gel.
Today I rinsed my hair, and then tried out another conditioner.
Moisturizing Conditioner
This is the base that Beemine uses for their avocado conditioner; I decided instead of using it as a rinse out I'd try it as a leave in. My hair fells soft, it's not super super moisturizing though. The pH of this product is comparable to vinegar perhaps (it is lower than the hairs pH) so my strands feel very smooth now. But think beemine had the right idea in using this as a rinse out after washing the hair to bring the pH down and balance the hair.
I will try this again after a shampoo with a shampoo that is of a higher pH and see how it does.
I have been using the olive nourishing cream as well, but I need to try it on dry hair before I can review it fully. I've used it on wet hair, and damp hair so far only. ^_^

Essential Wholesale Olive Nourishing Creme
Semi-review/description..
Okay so I have actually only like 5 more sample sizes of this left. (they are small packets) I have yet to use it on my full head of dry hair, and then seal. The only oil I have right now is my castor oil and I hate sealing with that on dry hair so I am waiting to replace my other oils. ^^
Anyways I thought I'd do a semi-review on it. The product is a creme product, it is promoted on their site as a body/skin moisturizer. But the ingredients are totally safe for hair, they are ingredients you might even find in a hair lotion/moisturizer.
Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Juice, Olea europaea (Organic Olive) Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Olea europaea (Olive) Butter, Palm Stearic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide Gum), Salix alba (White Willow Bark) Extract,Azadirachta indica (Neem) Oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Oleoresin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid
It's aloe based, and perfectly safe for hair - with no alcohol. The only creams of theirs I would use as moisturizers are the ones without witch hazel in them. This is one of them.
And you will see from their blog they have 'recipes' on how to use the creams as bases for deep conditioner blends, and even one used as a spray leave-in. As seen here..
Anyways, on to my semi-review. I will be getting more of this to use for a few weeks or so and do a better review.
The product is kinda orange-y. lol It is unscented but something gives it a peppermint type smell IMO. It has a light pourable whipped butter type consistency.
I have used it as a leave in on wet hair, I didn't like it. I used it on damp hair...I didn't like that either. So I decided to see if it would make a good dry hair moisturizer instead.
I have started using it only on my edges for now and without sealing. It absorbs really well, and feels really light on my hair. I also like that the ingredients are good for my skin in case I have any thin spots on my edges where it might touch the skin. You don't need a lot of this product as it def. has a lot of olive oil in it.
But so far I really like this....I found a blog where the writer had ordered this to use as a hair moisturizer as well, and some people on naturallycurly too reviewed this.
It is like most of their products perfectly pH balanced, so it smooths the hair, and gives a really nice shine. I am planning on doing a twist out in a day or so with this all over and will give my results after. :D

Thanks so much for doing this. I was thinking of purchasing bulk conditioners seeing how I go through them very quickly. As of now, I'm going to go the DIY route but if that doesn't work it this info will prove quite helpful, Thanks.

You're welcome :D
I just found it so odd I couldn't find many reviews on their stuff. I know a lot of the women on NC like that "simple aloe jelly" they sell but it seems they don't buy/review the other stuff they get
Anyways I am thinking maybe I should have held off on doing the clay treatment, lmao. My hair is still so clean, and looking good so I am holding off on washing until it feels oily so I can really test out that shampoo & conditioner in 1.
I also bought their goat milk cream, and herbal cream, to try out as deep conditioners. Oh and I bought this green tea facial cleanser, the ingredients in it are so good. I noticed Brendita sells the facial cleanser as a cream cleanser for hair...and I found some reviews on it on LHCF that say it's so moisturizing. So I emailed them and asked if it was safe for hair use and they told me "yes" but that they had never considered marketing it as such on their website. It's also pH balanced perfectly for hair too.
These are the ingredients, it has honey in it.
Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Juice, Camellia sinensis (Organic Green Tea) Extract, Lactose (Milk), Lavendula angustifolia (Organic Lavender) Distillate, Anthemis nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Distillate, Rosa damascena (Rose) Distillate, Vitis vinifera (Grapeseed) Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Vegetable Glycerin, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch Hazel),Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide Gum), Organic Honey, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester),dl-Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Retinol Palmitate (Vitamin A), Salix alba (White Willow Bark) Extract, Azadirachta indica (Neem) Oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Oleoresin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid

Okay so today I washed my hair with the 'shampoo & conditioner in 1' - DC'd with the 'Herbal Creme' and used the 'Herbal wheat & oat' conditioner as a leave in.
Shampoo & Conditioner in 1 (They really need better names rofl)
It has a pH of 4.5 - 5.5
So I finally washed properly with this, rather than before where I just used it once after a clay treatment to get any excess clay from my scalp.
It's white, thick, and runny. If I bought this in bulk size I would def. put it in the same type of bottles shea moisture uses for their shampoo.
There is not as much slip as the curl and shine shampoo I normally use, but I am okay with that since I'm not detangling with shampoo. After rinsing my strands didn't stick together the way they do with shea moisture shampoos, I could actually part my hair easily before detangling at all. My strands felt really smooth, my scalp feels good and clean. My hair is not dried out at all.
I really really like this. I haven't really used anything like it so I couldn't compare it to anything since the only shampoos I've used are shea moisture, and before that joico. Joico was too drying and the scents too strong, and shea moisture was causing too much tangling on my hair.
My hair usually after shampooing and squeezing my hair with my micro fiber towel even just for a second with the shea moisture shampoo would feel stiff, and dry and very fragile.
My hair after drying with the same micro fiber towel with the EW S&C in 1 felt like it still retained quite a bit of water, had weight and curls instead of matted frizz. My hair just felt so good..the elasticity, shine, clumping, lack of tangles, etc. I love it.
I'd give this a 10/10.
Herbal Creme
It has a pH of 4.5 – 5.5
After shampooing I applied this, since my hair had miminal tangles after shampooing I decided to just apply, twist and detangle after. But I still wanted to test this out and see if maybe I'd be able to detangle with it.
Applying it I found it has no slip initially. I was upset at that but not shocked, I mostly bought this creme and the other one as experiments lol. Anyways after applying and putting my hair in big twist, I put my plastic cap on, and went under the dryer. The whole time just thinking "this creme isn't going to do anything to my hair, I'll just DC with AO after giving it a try..."
So I sat for about 25 minutes, got out and let the DC cool for 5 minutes. When I took my cap off my hair actually felt really soft and conditioned. Soft enough to detangle but still not super slippery. I didin't expect the creme to really do anything honestly so I was shocked. So I detangled, I didn't lose a lot of hair or have a ton of breakage. But I still do prefer to detangle with something a bit more slippery just for my own comfort. :P
After detangling I rinsed, my hair felt soft while rinsing like it usually does after DC'ing. Something else I noticed while rinsing is that I didn't see much product rinsing out despite rinsing with warm water, for a normal amount of time. That tells me the product absorbs pretty well. After rinsing my hair was soft, looked really shiny, and I have to comment again on my hairs elasticity seems to be coming back. Before my hair had really poor elasticity.
I like this a lot, my hair feels like it actually absorbed the product and is retaining moisture.
I'd give the DC experience with it a 8/10. I would def. repurchase this and other cremes to experiment with.
Herbal wheat & oat conditioner
It has a pH of 3.5 – 4
Ok now THIS.......10/10 ..even before I get started. LOL
I used this as a leave in after DC'ing. I ordered 8 samples of this, and used three, though I will admit I didn't need the full third pack I just didn't want to leave it open so I used it. My hair was fully saturated in this. I sealed with castor oil.
I expected this to feel like the "moisturizing conditioner" because of it's pH, completely ignoring the wonderful ingridients this one has over that one.
My first reaction apply this was "omg SLIP...." LOL I was missing slip honestly haha. It had enough slip that I'd be comfortable detangling with it, I will also be trying this out as a DC next time I wash.
Applying this I got clumping curls, so I already knew this would be a good leave in under a styling product. My hair actually still drying right now, it's slightly damp but it already feels sooooooooo soft....like silky soft. My mom who is just about DONE with my "hair crap" even touched my hair and was like "ohh it feels soft"..My hair feels soooooo good right now ;_;
I will be using as a daily conditioner in a day or so because I want to be sure it's the conditioner alone, and not the DC that has my hair all buttery and getting motherly approval right now. LOL And the next time I wash I'll be using it as a DC (if I still have enough samples)
Overall I am pleased with everything I used today. :D

I have another review of the Olive Nourishing Creme
Before I washed my hair the other day I forgot to note that I had used the ONC all over and sealed with a tiny bit of a castor oil. I know I said I was waiting for my other oils but I couldn't resist any longer, lol.
Anyways besides my hair feeling a bit oily after (not too terrible though) it felt moisturized, the creme def. spreads better on dry hair. My strands felt moist and smoothed while applying.
After a day or so after applying though I noticed my strands had the protein-y feel....then it dawned on me that this cream consist of olive oil and olive butter...overall a lot of olive oil in one creme so I wasn't shocked, my hair loves protein but I generally don't want a moisturizer that is heavy in protein, and olive oil has a high amount of protein. I think I will try out one of their other cremes without witch hazel that seems more moisturizing to use as a dry hair moisturizer. Or maybe I'll get a sample of that spray detangler they have and see how it fares on dry hair as a daily moisturizer.
Overall I'd still give the olive creme a 10/10 - just for those that feel their hair is protein sensitive I would not use this daily. ^^

Well I was gonna untwist, rinse, and condition my hair with the herbal wheat and oat conditioner.....but after untwisting earlier this morning before school I realized my hair was still soft and conditioned, lol. I've had these chunky twist in since my wash with the S&C in 1, and it was still a perfectly wearable, moisturized twist out.
I only ever get wearable twist outs when my moisture game is on point, and I can count the number of wearable twist outs I've had on one hand LOL >.< This conditioner is def. a keeper....my hair feels light, fluffy, and soft. I love it, I don't know why I decided to get this conditioner in samples and the other conditioners in 16oz sizes...I'm going to be ordering this one in a bigger size though for sure.
I'm still trying to figure out how exactly I'm suppose to use that purifying conditioner, I suppose to it may be similar to that black shea moisture conditioner with clay in it. Iduno I might just use it on my brothers hair to be sure lol >.<
edit/
Also I only have like three sample left of the herbal creme, I guess I am going to try this creme out as a dry hair moisturizer as well. I normally wouldn't as it has witch hazel but I figured 'what the hell' it's not enough to cover my whole head wet or dry with these few samples left so I might as well. Plus the witch hazel is not that far up in the ingredient list anyhow.
I am only going to use it on the front of my hair - for the remainder of this week and seal with my castor oil (I have no idea what's going on with my oil order but I am calling tomorrow )

Erm so apparently my oil order will be shipped next week....something to do with the snow where the company is I guess they were closed or whatever >.>
Anyways I used the hair masque as a leave in today.
I rinsed my hair, while rinsing it felt soooooooooo soft...like I had been DC'ing the past few days, lol. That herbal wheat & oat conditioner is awesome >.< I basically washed on monday, and was able to go until today without having to re-conditioner my hair for moisture purposes. ^^ If I had rinsed before today it would have been solely to wear a wash and go. But I wore twist on purpose to test out the moisture of the conditioner.
The hair masque feels good so far as a leave in, my ends curled up nicely...which I am loving, I guess Kimmaytube was right about this specific pH level being best for twist outs as my hair responds by curling up soooo nicely at the ends, before with my old leave in it would just stretch...which is fine but didn't look so great as a twist out >.< My hair also air dried defined with nicely clumped curls, another good product that I could use under a gel for WnG's
I think the hair masque, and the herbal wheat & oat conditioner both work nicely as leave ins. =D I can't wait to try that herbal wheat & oat as a DC though. I just love it, my hair felt so amazing while rinsing and throughout this week.

So I just got home a few hours ago from class. I was going to wash my hair over the weekend but honestly my scalp still appeared pretty clean and I was too busy trying to force myself to stay away most of the day, therefore too tired to do my hair haha^^;
I had the hair masque as a leave in for the past few days, it's not nearly as moisturizing as the herbal wheat & oat conditioner as a leave in. I'm not surprised at that, but I just wanted to test it out as a leave in as well. ^^
So today..
I washed my hair in the shower when I got in, I decided to give the "green tea facial cleanser" a try - I KNOW! It's a facial cleanser, however the ingredients are really really good, and there are no AHA's or anything like that in it that would make it potentially damaging to your hair, I even emailed them after I made this order to ask if it was safe and they yes but just that they never thought to sell it as a hair cleanser. I got the idea to use it in this way because I noticed brendita selling this and the jojoba cleanser as hair cleansing milks so I figured "why not?"
Anyhow, the product is thin, runny cream-like consistency. It foams a little bit. I think it cleanses okay. I was expecting it to be like a lot more moisturizing though..which is why I bought it to see if it could work as a every other day type of refresher or something. It's not drying, but not moisturizing enough to use as such.
To be fair I only did one wash, lol. Like the cremes, I mostly got it to experiment with so my order wasn't so small ^^ I personally wouldn't purchase again (though I may try it on my facial and see if I like it lol) But it was ok.
I have some extended reviews for previously reviewed products though. I feel like my hair is retaining water soooo much better, I guess I really did have high porosity hair before - because it was like I could be rinsing my hair in the shower and never fell that water weight that I am feeling now.
I dc'd with the hair masque for a little less than 30 mins, when I removed my cap my hair felt like had been soaked and sealed..Not dripping wet or anything. Like just heavy from retention. Soft as well, I lost a very very very small amount of hair detangling. I am just amazed at the shine, retention and extremely improved elasticity I am getting from using pH balanced products.
I used the moisturizing conditoner as a leave in - I still will say that it's not very moisturizing, I just don't have any other leave in's right now besides my 5 sample packs of the herbal wheat & oat conditioner which I don't want to use up until I order a larger size (which will be this week) lol I want to use them in my hair this weekend to a birthday party ^^;; And hopefully have enough to use as a DC also.
Overall I am very pleased with my hair....all I really need now is possibly a bulk protein conditioner, but as for now I stick to aphogee two min. ^_^
(Oh and I also changed my mind about using my remaining packs of the herbal creme as a moisturizer, I am just not comfortable leaving witch hazel in my hair. I will order the spray detangler conditioner from EW as well and test that out on dry hair as a moisturizer!~)

I'm gonna email EW to see how they suggest using the purifying conditioner, lol. Because activated charcoal is just as a potent as bentonite clay as far as cleansing properties go. I want to know whether I should shampoo first or use it as a cleansing conditioner instead.
But I have an updated review on the Moisturizing conditioner. After my wash with the green tea cleanser I had DC'd and used the moisturizing conditioner as my leave-in.
Well I put twist in my hair after that, no butter or gel just my castor oil was used to seal my hair. I un-twisted today...and my hair was soooooooo soft and spring-y lol >.< I was shocked since I expected it to be a bit dry as I didn't think the moisturizing conditioner was all that moisturizing before obviously. It was still shiny, soft, and good enough to wear a twist out for a few days haha^^
So after that I'd probably give the M.C. a 8/10.
So far on my re-purchase list when I run out is..
Shampoo & Conditioner in 1 Herbal Wheat & Oat conditioner
Hair Masque Moisturizing Conditioner
Basically all the products I got in 16oz (minus the herbal wheat and oat ^^)~
