While the flat iron leaves my hair straight, I can't get close to my roots.

The flat iron makes my natural hair kinky straight Confused

What do you mean?...My hair get straight nicely but my roots I can't b.c I don't want to get burned.
NAPP I apologize, I meant like link where folk purchased their pressing comb from?

I use Hot N Silky Pressing comb and it costs only $30. On the back of the box, there's like a chart thing to tell you what temperature to use for your hair type and you are able to set the temperature on whatever you like. It goes up to 500 degrees.

I have the hot n silky from Sally's and it works very well for me. I have very resistant natural 4b hair so I already know I need high heat. But if you're not sure which temp to use - start low and adjust the temp till your hair straightens - that's the point in having temp control. I can use a flat iron after the pressing comb to make curls or flips but not to get my hair straight. With flat iron alone I just look like I did a blow out and also the flat iron - it irons in knots. Not everyone can use just a flat iron - that's why they still make pressing combs for those of use who need 'em. :)

I just brought the hot and silky today.. I tested out on a few sections of my hair.. So far, so good.. I have natural 4a/4b hair.. I got it because I felt my flatiron wasn't getting my hair staight enough.
