Topic: Eco Styler Gels - Which One? Krystal or Olive? Posted: Jan 19 2010 at 3:36pm |
Hello Ladies,
I love, love, love Eco Styler gels because they don't flake and they don't leave my hair dry like IC Fantasia Sparkle Lites gel did. The other plus is that they give a soft hold without crunchiness when I do a two strand twist. This brand of gels is a keeper!
Anyway, I tried the brown, the krystal and the olive. I like the last two because they have a maximum hold of 10, however they both seem to have the same effect on my hair. I was leaning towards the olive gel because I thought it had a softer hold, but I'm not sure anymore.
Here are my questions, if you tried this brand, which gel type did you use and why did you like it? Also, if you've tried both the krystal and the olive gels did you notice a difference in the softness, holding power or otherwise?

I have tried the Krstal and the Olive Oil versions. The clear one always flakes in my hair everytime I have ever applied it to my hair. It would leave my hair very hard with no movement and feeling dehydrated. The only positive things that I can say about this product is that it left my hair with lots of shine everytime I would use it.
The olive oil version is more moisturizing, doesn't flake, provides shine, gives flexible hold and works just fine for me when it comes to wearing my hair slicked back or down curly. I only wish that it was clear and had a slightly better scent to it. But, its a good product nonetheless.

Thanks for your reply Prettychic! Curse those flakes...
Like you, the krystal gel gave great curl definition, but my hair was very hard - hated it. That's when I deceided to try the olive gel which left my hair very soft.
Since that first krystal gel experiment my hair routine changed and I gave it another try last night. My hair came out super soft - I think it's because I kept stretching my strands while they were damp. Anyway, I think the next time I wash my hair I'll do half with the krystal and the other half with the olive just to see if there is a difference on my hair. Crazy, but I don't have space to keep both types around - lol.
And yes, they both provide great shine.

Ive' tried both, I love the Olive. The Krystal was OK but the Olive had a softer hold. I will the Krystal if they are out of the Olive, but the holds and effects are different on my hair. Not sure why.

I have both of them... None of them flakes on me and to be honest I can't tell a difference between the two.
