I've had my car parked for days because I didn't want anyone to get my spot in front of my house because we can't reserve the space. I also have off street parking ,I save that for my clients so they don't have to look forever for non existent parking.

i think in Philly its not allowed either to put chairs or whatever in shoveled parking spots..

In Chicago, they just come around at some point, pick them up and throw them on the garbage truck.

Usually its days after there's been snow and plows have come through.
