You guys have such gorgeous hair! I sooooo wish my hair was more textured but I was brought up to believe underprocessing would make your hair break off. So glad I found this site to educate me and put me on the right track. I've since started transitioning to texlaxing but I only started a couple weeks ago and can't wait until my texlaxed hair is more noticable. You guys are making me so jealous with all this hair p0rn! I have a question about that sulfur mix: so I mixed up a batch with 1/3 tsp sulfur, 2 oz JBCO, 2 oz coconut oil, 2 oz avocado oil, but the smelllllllll. I can't deal with the smell LOL. I put it on my hair last night and I'm seriously considering skipping gym today after work because I feel like everyone within a 3-mile radius can smell me LOL. Either that or go home for my lunch break, wash my hair then have to wash it again after I work out. Ugh. I thought I put the tiniest bit on my scalp and didnt think it would be this strong. Do you guys think I can still get the benefits of it if I just do it once a week an hour or 2 before washing? I don't want to be caught dead smelling like this outdoors LOL! I'm so glad I'm alone at work today!

did a twist out yesterday. I hatedddd it. Ugh. It's like mt 10th attempt in 2 years. I give up. It's just not designed for my texture lol. My hair is just too thin. Disappointment. I threw it up in a bun as usual.
Made a newer, more potent shea butter mix I'm going to start using more diligently in my hair. I need to get serious.

At night I can't stand myself..I smell it on my pillows...but it's for the cause. I think some people put peppermint oil in it, but I"m not sure...

my mom would use MTG instead and dc with it. the scent washes out a little better than pure sulfur? And it doesn't smell so much like rotting sewage... but bacon/bbq pit instead haha. pick your poison lol

here are some essential oils you can look in to: http://www.puritan.com/pages/iq.asp?searchText=oils&=Category|dc2aaf62-f698-4995-b6b0-ed8ddc6934b3 - http://www.puritan.com/pages/iq.asp?searchText=oils&filter=Category|dc2aaf62-f698-4995-b6b0-ed8ddc6934b3

Oh, I forgot to mention that! I did put around 30 drops EACH of peppermint oil and rosemary oil in it right before I put it on my scalp last night, and although those smells are quite strong, the sulfur smell still manages to get through! I even put around 10 drops of this floral smelling fragrance oil in it. I asked my brother this morning and he said I smelt -very- strongly of camphor, mint and something else he couldn't define. When I said sulfur, he said, yeah that's it. I think I'm going to wash it out soon as I get home lol.

i think it would still be beneficial if u put it on at night or when u get in and cowashed/rinsed in the morning. even if u did it every other day. 12 hours of contact every other day should still give u reasonable results without having to wear it out and on at all times.

I washed out that stinky sulfur mix a few hours ago, and I might be tripping but I swear my hair grew already O_o. My un-henna'd roots are like 1/4" longer I swear. I only had it on my scalp for like 2 days, so I must be imagining things! I want to test this for sure though so next time I henna (next friday), I'm going to apply it to my scalp immediately after and track the growth I get! Works perfect since I'm going to be indoors all weekend and I can then wash it out on monday.

Wow... I gotta check out this sulfur mix. Maybe when you add some essential oils like lavender or vanilla you can wear it during the week too.
Please update us on your progress with your mix!

OMG!!! First of all, I was like, huh? Sulfur only has a faint smell. But I see what happened. 30 drops is waaaaaaaaaaay toooooooo muuuuuuuuch!!!!!!! OMG!!!! You're not smelling the sulfur. You're smelling the essential oils. And rosemary is like wooooooooooow! Listen, in my first batch of my original formula, I had no respect for the concentration of essential oils. I must've put 15 drops of rosemary oil in my 8 oz batch and the smell was UN-BEARABLE!!!! I had to throw out the whole batch. You are using way too much. My stomach is hurting thinking about it. When you get finished experimenting and want to check out my improved formula, hit me up. In the meantime, please throw out that batch and try again. I can smell it from here.
