I will post a starting photo later this week, and I hope to reopen my fotki this week too.
Starting length: waist length, transitioning long term
Expected date for HL: I dunno, probably December 2013. I am not in a rush. I have at least 4 or 5 inches to go. I want bigger hair though
Regimen- Basically I am going for a simpler regimen. I have been pretty much cowashing my hair daily since I started my HHG. I would get a dominican blow out every other month, and relax twice a year. But that is too much abuse for my hair soo...
I am aiming to adopt a low maintenance routine. Now I am striving to wash my hair once a week with a deep condition. I would even go longer without washing my hair if it still feels moisturized.
But definitely no more leaving the house with wet hair
At night, braid my hair in sections while finger detangling. Moisturize and/or seal at night then top with sating bonnet.
I am using my steamer to add moisture to my new growth, I will do this twice a week with my cinnamon/coconut oil mixture on my scalp for stimulation. I don't do my ends as often because they are way more porous than my new growth. I just steam the roots and scalp often without pinning the rest up so steam does not hit them.
No other growth aids except for exercise, drinking more water, eating protein and broccoli.
On the days that I dc, i will do that under the steamer or under the regular hooded dryer then leave it on overnight. Alternating protein treatments with moisturizing dc (any suggestions?)
I am planning on wearing braidouts, twistouts and buns mostly. I may even get twists put in at some point. We will see. I am no longer phased by the look of flat relaxed hair or blowouts so I won't be using heat.
- coconut oil
- cinnamon essential oil
- any multivitamin
- aphogee 2 minute reconstructor
- cheapie suave and VO5 conditioners
