Clap Awesome!  How far are you into your transition?

You inspired me! Tongue
I think I last did my texlax touch up in February...
I am going to transition for as long as humanly possible lol

I just read what you said about chemicals thinning your hair and drying it out over time.  I agree.  I think you're gonna love your natural hair.  I'm SO glad I went for it.  I LOVE my curlies!  Wishing you the best on your transition.  You're well on your way! ClapClapClap

I will post a starting photo later this week, and I hope to reopen my fotki this week too.

Starting length: waist length, transitioning long term
Expected date for HL:  I dunno, probably December 2013.  I am not in a rush.  I have at least 4 or 5 inches to go.  I want bigger hair though LOL

Regimen- Basically I am going for a simpler regimen.  I have been pretty much cowashing my hair daily since I started my HHG.  I would get a dominican blow out every other month, and relax twice a year.  But that is too much abuse for my hair soo...

I am aiming to adopt a low maintenance routine.  Now I am striving to wash my hair once a week with a deep condition.  I would even go longer without washing my hair if it still feels moisturized.
But definitely no more leaving the house with wet hair Dead

At night, braid my hair in sections while finger detangling.  Moisturize and/or seal at night then top with sating bonnet.

I am using my steamer to add moisture to my new growth, I will do this twice a week with my cinnamon/coconut oil mixture on my scalp for stimulation.  I don't do my ends as often because they are way more porous than my new growth. I just steam the roots and scalp often without pinning the rest up so steam does not hit them.

No other growth aids except for exercise, drinking more water, eating protein and broccoli.

On the days that I dc, i will do that under the steamer or under the regular hooded dryer then leave it on overnight.  Alternating protein treatments with moisturizing dc (any suggestions?)

I am planning on wearing braidouts, twistouts and buns mostly.  I may even get twists put in at some point.  We will see. I am no longer phased by the look of flat relaxed hair or blowouts so I won't be using heat.

Products:
  • coconut oil
  • cinnamon essential oil
  • any multivitamin
  • aphogee 2 minute reconstructor
  • cheapie suave and VO5 conditioners
  • shea moisture products
  • ORS deep conditioners

Do you ladies have any tips on how sew down your u-part without pulling out your edges.  I want it to be secure without being really tight.

Count me in!Big smile

I need to take pics of my hair for a starting off point in about another 2.5 wks but I should be starting off at about the top of BSL. I think I can maybe get close to WL by Dec 31 2013.

I'll add more info once I add pics to my photo album.
