    Posted: Feb 06 2013 at 2:27pm
Hi Ladies,

I would like to know if it is best to dust my ends while my hair is cornrowed or should I undo the braids and dust when all my hair is out?

I want to keep up with my ends as the last time I had a trim was in September and the hairdresser had to take alot off.  I have been protecting my ends by wearing cornrows underneath a wig but would like to dust them so I can stay on top of my game and retain length.

you'd probably get a more accurate trim if they were twisted\braided individually

^^^^IA and it's like the hair it's own strand instead of being all together at different lengths.

If Ur trying to retain length, don't dust right now. Too soon if u just did it in September.

Thanks for the response Roxie.

That totally makes sense to do them individually in order to get them accurate.

Bebe,

yes my goal is to retain length but I want to ensure that my ends are in good condition so that I don't have such a huge set back again.

How often would you suggest trimming/dusting?

agreed

I do it when my ends look raggedy in a twist out lol .... that's usually the best sign for me

I think they said there's a lot of tangling, that's a sign as well
