Right KK.  MAC is an inexpensive brand IMO, just overpriced (again - in my opinion).  But I'm also a firm believer that if your lipstick tube needs to have the MAC logo on it for you to feel like its a quality product I'm not even mad.  For me Wet N Wild Megalast lipstick is on par and that's MACs fault, not the dupers.  When you are MAC you will always have competitors coming for you.  I give them props for market share all day.  Well done.  But in the meantime WnW, Black Radiance, Black Opal, Iman, Revlon, Loreal, Maybelline and all of them are trying to put out quality affordable products.  Its hit or miss but they do it all day everyday.

It doesn't have to be either / or is really the point.  The question is how much do you want to spend, how important is it to get what you paid for and does the product meet/exceed your needs.  Nothing else to wonder about really.  Buy what you love and love what you buy.  Everything else should go back to the store!!

I love it all.  This thread has been awesome from Drug Store to Department store to High End.  We....love....all.....things....makeupClap

/random thought

I agree...I think the dupes are  prettyWink

I had to peel myself away from the lipstick section in Rite Aid yesterday. I had to remind myself how much lipstick I have that I don't use and of my commitment to put a dent in them before I buy anything else. Nail polishes are exempt from this rule since I recently tossed a whole case of melty separated ones that I hadn't opened in years but now that my interest has been renewed of course I can't find any around the house.

Mac has excellent branding......so you may know a mac color before you know a drugstore brand color or even higher end brands colors....plus Mac understands the importance of finishes......most drugstore brands are always a satin or gloss.......for me its easier to buy a color at Mac then matte down a cheaper drugstore version....and Mac is not a makeup status symbol unless you're basic as hell lol....Estee Lauder owns all that shyt low-key.....them and Loreal own most of the beauty industry's top brands
