I took down my braids and now I have a HUGE  section of  matted hair on my head. I don't know what to do.   I'm gonna cry if I have to cut it..I'm almost bsl. Ladies do you have ANY ideas??? ..My God, I'm about to cry as I type this.    Cry

This has never happened to me before but I think you can try to saturate your hair with a moisturising conditioner(what ones do you have?) and stay under heat to let the hair absorb it.... hopefully this will help soften and untangle your hair.

also try some olive oil to get some slip and use a tiny hairpin to unpick the 'dreadlock'. always unpick/comb hair from the ends in not from the roots out!I get these every week since stretching and my hair tangles easily so this is what I do to untangle. I was actually doing one last night at the front of my hair.
 
note: go very slowly and don't rip thru impaitenly if you want to save your hair! I once untangled my hair for 1 hour after saturating with the olive oil. My arms ached but it was so worth it and I lost minimal hair than if I were to cut it out or rip a fine tooth comb thru from the roots up!

ITA...take your time to  do this otherwise you will lose almost all of it....take it  piece by piece,start from the ends...good luck girl!Hug

awww that sux.. this happened to me before i cried too.. i suggest using a conditoner and detangling slowly. you willl lose some hair but not alot and it will grow back just take your time

My aunt had this happen to her. She used conditioner and a small toothed comb. Its going to take time and patience to get the tangles out.
