I don't believe that bottom needs to be defined differently for everyone. Nothing wrong with not starting at the bottom. Difficulty/taking time in reaching the echelons of your craft does not equal starting at the bottom IMO. |
basically.

just because ppl knew who he was doesnt mean ppl were fans of him as a rapper...
i watched degrassi faithfully since 7th grade until they were in college.. i didnt necessarily like or dislike jimmy. i remember when his first video came out (i think lloyd was in it and it was on nickelodeon) and i was just like "oh wow... jimmy???" and my friend whom also watched degrassi from the start... wasnt feeling him at all. she actually didnt like the idea of him rapping, at all....
i didnt start really liking him until later
and once again, his mom was sick and it was only his income for a while and canadian teen shows back then did not make what you'd think...

right, he didn't get rich...
he had a single mother but they didn't live in the projects so i guess i want to know what the bottom is defined as....would it only be the bottom if he had extreme economic problems? lived in a war zone?

i think that going from it just being you and your mom whom had to work hard for them to have a decent life, to a millionaire.. is going from the bottom to the top.
