There's still discrepancies between what he said
now (after waiting days to get his official story together) and then.
For example, he says he told his dad that he met Lennay for the first time in Hawaii last year.
Yet the dad said months ago that he first met Lennay at Stanford in 2009.
it's obvious he was duped. But it's also obvious he caught got in a web
of lies that benefited him. Teammates knew he wasn't close to Lennay,
even though he was going on national tv saying that he was.
I agree, although the whole thing sounds ridiculous, I really question Te'o's story:
1. Three years and you never met someone ---> NOT your gf. Just someone you enjoy talking to on the phone. I've dated online before several times. At some point, the point really is to take it offline - sooner rather than later.
By his own admission, even at times when they were supposedly in the
same state together, he would find an excuse not to meet her - even when
someone claiming to be her relative told him that she was in a car
accident and in a hospital in the same state. AND even when she was in a
hospital battling from her imaginary cancer. For as much as he claims
to have been in love with her, if someone I cared about was laying
injured/ailing in a hospital, I would have made more of an attempt to
