Got me interested and found that any plastic marked 1 or 2 are not recyable
Bottle and jug caps made out of plastic are also not recyclable.

Sorry for the slight hijack.

They get wrapped and go in the trash. And to my nasty supervisor, I am repeating the word wrapped.

Better to use cardboard then. Because these plastic objects go into landfills where they take long to break down, and they aren't nutritious for the ecosystem.

Take out containers too.

No problem derri hijack away

So no one puts plastic in the unit! HA! in her face

Confession: In grade 6 (we are kids so no tampons talk just pads) we're told that there's acid in the unit and we should never open them. Ive held on to that for YEARS and alwasy made sure to handle them carefully thinking that it turns the pads into a sort of sludge. Somehow over the years i figure its odour killing and paper eating microorganisms (a bio-digester) that's in there so it would make no sense to put plastic.

Now here's the kicker I could never understand WHY they get full if the "acid " is eating it all up or why the ladies remove an entire unit  and carry it away instead of taking it out back and pouring the acid into a drum or supm.

I refuse to say when i realised that there was no acid in this thing. EmbarrassedEmbarrassedEmbarrassedEmbarrassed

How long does a flushed tampon take to breakdown? The sewerage ppl and plumbers and tampax and them need to bring the receipts man!

The plastic applicator goes in the trash.  The tampon itself gets flushed.

Yeah, I flush my tampons @ work but throw them away @ home cause I live in an old house with old style sewer system and I've had to pay a plumber before cause 1 freakin tampon plugged it up one time I was really expecting to see 12 of them suckas not 1 to justify a plumber even having to come out

and as far as the applicator, I put that back in the plastic wrap that it comes in and that always goes in the garbage. I always hate when I don't put in the tampon right and den thru the applicator in the garbage and have to start over cause feeling a tampon in your vaginal entry is torture...

I only use cardboard applicators. Plastic is too slippery.

Flash the tampon, tuck the applicator back in the wrapper, and throw it in the feminine waste bins that hang on the wall of the stall.

I have flushed my cardboard applicators in public if there was no waste bin in the stall tho.

I also flush my baby wipes. I've heard you're not supposed to pour grease down the drain, but I do it anyway lol.

Everyone just needs to get on the cup wagon. All these pads and flushed tampons aren't good for the earth.
