I feel the same way. They do help a lot of people. I guess people are sensitive to different things. This is not an issue that I'm passionate about *Shrug*

I used to donate my old clothes to Salvation Army, but then I realized that I was not helping the homeless people at all because they still have to PAY for those clothes. And where's the guarantee that the sales from the clothes really does help those people? So sometimes I leave the clothes in a paper bag near the trash; when there is a lot of clothes, then I take to SA because I don't want my neighbors to see my old clothes in the alleyLOL
I'm sure some locations do help the homeless, becauseI used to see a lot of homeless people by the location I used to go. They probably get some food daily there.

I don't donate money to big charities, but I still find harmless to donate your used/old clothes.

Dead

I'll try to only donate to goodwill or those clothing donation bins that have popped up all over.

I don't know about the salvation army in your area. But the salvation army in my area does give away free clothes to the homeless. They also pay the older people in my communities light bill when the economy went bad and couldn't afford it. They also would pay part of your mortgage or rent. And they helped our black asses because they came to the black community to do so. I'm not trying to come off disrespectful....

erm, if they are a bible based organization, i wouldnt really expect for them to be supportive of the homosexual lifestyle. That being said im sure they wouldnt refuse a gay homeless person clothes or financial assistance if it were needed.
Will continue to support, ppl need clothes dammit.

oh and whoever made the comparison of the salvation army to the KKK, that was disgusting. Last time i checked the salvation army wasnt setting homes on fire or hanging ppl from trees for the hell of it. Ermm
