Ladies and gents, it is important to realize abuse when it
happens. You don't always have to be beaten up to be considered abused,
the abuse can happen not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Please watch out for these signs of abuse and do not stay for them. Your
safety, your happiness, and your sanity is far more important than the
person who is trying to harm you- yes, harm.

Know the warning signs. Don't wait until it's too late.

Good information! One last point. Once you see the above LEAVE. Don't believe the crap that if he hasn't hit you yet .. that it's not abuse. That's how woman get trapped in these unbelieveable situations .. they put up with the emotoional abuse until ... he hauls off and hits her. So then it's TOO LATE to leave without that craziness you see on TV. That's why I said leave BEFORE he puts his hands on you!!

Very important dialogue. Most people dont even realize that they have been in verbally abusive/controlling relationships until years later in hindsight.

I'm happy that you posted some information that also highlights verbal abuse. Verbal abuse can hurt just as much as physical abuse. "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" in my opinion does not apply in the case of verbal abuse. Getting screamed at and cussed at continuously by someone who claims to love you does Hurt!

This woman I know was in an abusive relationship for 25 years and the only reason it ended Is cuz he died.
I didn't realize how damaged I was from my past until I got into a really good relationship.
But IA get out before it gets worse I definitely didn't stick around for 25 years which is a ridiculous amount of time
And give yourself enough time to heal!! Seek counseling if you have to..don't let it control your life and the good things that are coming your way in the future.
