We love to debate. I can't be with someone who doesn't think or do anything challenging.

There are defintiely times where the things he gets passionate about don't necessarily interest me. He's really into astronomy, physics, aeronautics, trains & automobiles (very pro Tesla) and...Star Trek/Star Wars.Ermm  He's obsessed with all things NASA - went to space camp - we went to KSC to see the last shuttle launch.

So there are times when he says things that for me are a bit of a bore. He watches The Universe & considers Dr. Michia Kaku (sp) & Dr. Neil Tyson DeGrasse to be some of his heroes.

But I respect his passion and the fact that he can speak intelligently to those subjects and hold serious debates with people who actually work in those fields.

I can't be with someone who's happy to be ignorant or doesn't have a passion for something. If he's not talking about the above, then he's talking about his field (DJing). But we can also debate politics, etc. He's a researcher, like myself. So we never have dull convos.

Yes the car. One of our friends works for Tesla in Seattle so my fiance was super hyped. And one of our friends also works for Boeing (sp) in Seattle as well...my SO forced him to take him on a tour lol.

IMO, you need to have something to talk about bc looks fade and the initial giddy honeymoon phase will ultimately end. If you can't connect you have nothing to base a relationship on. We've been together for going on almost 8yrs now (getting married this yr). You can't stick around for 7+yrs on pure looks alone.

Everyone has their element. Just because you can't have an in-depth conversation about Kafka or astrophysics with someone doesn't make him, or you, any less intelligent, per se. I think what's important is that you find some of the same things stimulating and can converse openly about them.
