LOL my son is 4 and will think the food on my plate looks better than his. I can now reason with him and he has the same food but he still thinks in his little head mine is better tasting. I tell him eat his first and if he is still hungry I will share with him. Or I'll put some of my food on an empty plate in front of him so he sees that we have the same thing.

Your daughter wants to be like you and will copy a lot of the things you do and say. Totally normal. No way I would pop her for that. This is why many kids toys mimic the adult world.

Looked around and this rascal walling back to his room with a whole piece of fish. I just be damned.
bwahaha your son sounds exactly like me when I was a kid!!Ouch

My folks had to get a padlock for the fridge too..I'd go in and take the cheese and pour all the milk and eggs on the floor.Cry

I even took snacks from the oven  (which was off, they put it in there to stop me) and eat it like this:

...they popped me for that.LOL

OP, I don't think you have anything to worry about..my sibs did that with my folks (and I barely did and look at what a rascal I was lol) and they don't beg or act out in public..it's cute, she just wants to be like mummy.LOL

it was worse when we used to go to church events/lunches

...I'd take chicken from people's plates and just take a bite (not eating it though just literally biting off a chunk) and put it back...they'd be like "come get your child, she's doing it again!!"LOLCry

LOL Well mine is 30 and he claims that my stuff just always "tastes" better.   Even when he has exactly the same thing, say a glass of ice water somehow mine just looks so much more refreshing.

Babies are the same though.  I remember eating something they wouldn't eat just so they would want it.  I would be like OMG this is sooooooooo good and then suddenly it was all they ever wantedWink

Don't pop her.  It sounds like she would understand if you did the same thing to her (i.e. sad face, now I'm starving because you keep taking my food).

The funniest thing is how THEY don't want to share their food.  You should see how she likes a piece of her own medicine.

You can actually trade "plates" with a kid and suddenly the food is more delicious because it was yoursConfused.

SMH.  Babies are crazy!
