Thanks everyone. I had never heard about keeping it in fridge before and was wondering how I missed that important fact. I'm usually so good about reading labels and following instructions lol.

I did order another 5 lbs block last night but I will use the bit I found stashed away while waiting on the new batch to arrive. I have a block about the size of 2 bars of soap left. I was hoping I hadn't let it 'spoil' by not storing it in fridge. It's been tightly sealed so it should be safe from moisture/humidity.

thanks again and Yay for African Black soap!!

but somebody better tell those reviewers on Amazon that they are ruining their black soap by keeping it in the fridge. They seem to think that's how it should be stored lol.

I just bought my first bar this week off of ebay. It was $3.98 free shipping. It didn't come with instructions and I used the whole bar bar this morning and when I googled it, it said to cut off a small piece from the bar. I didn't even know that. They need to start putting instructions with these soaps.

I cut a piece off of mine too. Im glad someone else mentioned the harshness. It left my forehead and chin sore. I dropped down to using it every other day. I guess my face is used to just water and baking soda. so the soap irritated it

I think there was a thread on shampooing with it somewhere on BHM. I dont remember which section. I tried it once to do a deep cleaning of my scalp. I think it worked but I only did it once and barely remember. Lol..sorry

When I run out of castile soap, yea I do...it has a high PH which is suitable for my low porosity hair since I need some cuticle lifting...

I wouldnt recommend shampooing with black soap if you are high porosity, unless you mix it with oils and aloe juice to stabilize the PH balance...

Thanks Lite and Nick. I think I will try it with some jojoba oil mix.
I just got my first bottle of JBCO today and can't wait to try that!
