before cooking? I do even with lemon or ACV before cooking everything with the exception of ground beef. I just can't not wash it!
I just read somewhere its Unnecessary! To wash or not to wash... that is the question?

yes.  I wash then let soak in a lemon, vinegar and water mixture then season.  I'd wash ground beef if I could.
Do y'all rinse your rice before you cook? *not to hijack the thread in it's infancy*

Yes because at least you can avoid some germs left by meat handlers and butchers by washing.

it does not "kill" anything but if you are looking to add favor , soften or change the smell of the meat then wash it

I wash it most times but it's only to add flavor and/or tenderize

heat kills bacteria

I rinse my ground beef after I brown it....at least to get the excess fat off.
