Azelia Banks should be kept far away from a poster child for anything except how not to behave. She gets beef with any and everyone to try to elevate her image. Honestly, she should be happy MOS remixed 212 and ran with it. Otherwise, she'd still be in Harlem gigging it.

But i definitely believe this is something that is an internal problem that "mainstream America" reflects back on us.

Is it just me or can we agree that there is no collective understanding of where dark skin begins as opposed to "brown" or "light"??

Just reading through the thread finally, as I didn't when I first started posting and ppl are being considered light or regular who definitely wouldn't have fallen into those categories in the 90s. Like Brandy. Light vs. dark seems so subjective depending on how the person answering the question views themselves on that scale.

I know my grandmother calls me "light skinned" and I am definitely not. I have a lot of orange tones bc of NA ancestry...but no where near light. Lighter than her? For sure...but definitely not #highyellow and I question #redbone too (as it relates to me).

The only way I see that happening is if people change their mindset. I'd hope it doesn't happen just because this or that celebrity makes it a trend. I hate that for black folks it's about popular at the moment when it comes to something like skin complexion.
