No, I don't share the outrage. The guy had a permit & this is some dang calamari at the end of it all. He clearly wanted to spark outrage & he was a succesful troll.
Its not what he did, its how he did it that got people all riled up. Art project? Measuring tape? Facebook pics? Clearly trolling there.
If he hunted the exact same animal because he was hungry (not for a project), didn't take pictures for FB and all that, there would likely be no problem. People go fishing everyday.

Some people need a real hobby there is nothing to be outraged about. I think calamari is gross but I will pig out on some shrimp

I'm not outraged that he caught the octopus for meat, but I think the fact that he was gloating over it and didn't immediately kill it, posting to FB, is distasteful.
