I'm a medical student and I've just started my clinical rotations and In general everyone is very receptive to having me in the room. I need to see actual patients and their conditions to learn. However, the only two times I've been asked to leave were two black women. I'm a black woman myself.
I didn't even get to say anything or introduce myself so I didn't offend them or anything. One of the main push for having minorities in medicine is cultural competency and I was just wondering if having a Black provider mades other black ppl uncomfortable or if those two women were outliers.
