...do you give a two weeks notice? If so when?

I usually give it the day I want to quit after I got my most recent check...in the past the employer will ask if I want to leave sooner.

I just thinking about this...my friend works as a bank teller and she gave hers on payday and they took back her check with the account she had with them! Shocked

I only have to give a week but I'm giving them over a month so they have time to find a replacement. I try not to burn bridges!

if this job will affect your career, I would advise giving a two week notice

i gave notice once that I was moving out of town because I enjoyed the job and respected the people.

depending on why i was quitting, if i didn't need it on my cv or resume, or if the job didn't pertain to my future career, I didn't bother

my last job, i woke up one morning, texted my sup "I quit" and went back to sleep

I just think you never know how your circumstances will change & whether you will need to go back to the job, request a reference or even get a friend/family a job there.

I can safely say that all of the places I have worked can offer me any of the above & all I need to do is ask. That's why I do not get rude or inconsiderate or proud when I find something new.

I always do, in case I decide to use that job on my resume.

Plus, I respect the people I work with enough not to fck up the schedule by not showing up or giving any notice because I know how much it sucks to get called in because of that.

Not at my last job. I tried to call out sick and my manager told me to take a pill and come in. FOH. I quit on the spot. Funny thing was that I never called out and you giving me bullsh*t when my other coworkers were calling out 5+ times a month? Bye.

I might give a 2 week notice with my current job. I don't know. It depends on my mood LOL If they piss me off, I might not even call to say I quit.
