to me, the pics of hair that everyone claims are cnapps aren't cnapps. 4b, 4a/b probably but not definitely not cnapps(if there is such a thing). i wish i could show an example of what i mean though.

Cnapps stands for cloudy and undefined nappy hair. I interpret cnapp as 4b hair.

I think it was needed because that hair type was a bit overlooked in the natural spectrum. I've seen hair that could be considered "cnapp" and there are not very many people who can truly claim it.

I'm starting to believe it. Crazy coily if I'm remembering her name correctly had cnapp hair. Her site isn't up anymore. I think she's a perfect example of cnapp hair.

crazycoil had beautiful hair!  too bad she's gone.

i don't think 4b/c-napp hair is rare (although 4a's dominance on hair boards has me wondering if most AAs are 4a).

I really don't believe in the whole "typing" hair thing in it's entirety, but as far as cnapps are concerned, they are supposedly different than 4b hair. I think it's nappier or more cottony feeling? I have no clue..to be honest..lol.Wacko

To be fair, the MAJORITY of people that I HAVE seen claim "cnapps" honestly just look to me like 4a/4b naturals who aren't moisturizing their hair well enough. It just looks dry or frizzed out or something. My hair looks COMPLETELY different when it's fully moisturized than when it's dry and not moisturized. I also think that woman who started the cnapp thing, doesn't use oils or butter on her hair...at all. From my experience when moisture is not sealed, it evaporates and leaves my hair parched...which gives the illusion of even curlier/kinkier hair than I alredy have. I honestly think that woman has 4a hair, and because she has a different regimen than most of us have (no oil regimen) her hair appears "different" when in fact it isn't. That's not to say that there aren't people with this hair type, but I think a lot of people who are claiming it, don't really have it.
