Elderly whites? You mean the ones who fought against civil rights, segregation and cheered when my ancestors (some of whom didn't have the blessing of growing into old age) were being lynched and attacked? No I don't defer to them devils at all. |

I keep away from white people in my everyday life. Not 1 single white person has my phone number. I'm not nice to them, I'm not bad to them. I try my best to have little to no dealings with them. I even avoid them in elevators. Yep, I take the next elevator.
ETA: Anytime I have to take the bus or train and an old white person comes on, I close my eyes and pretend to be sleeping for a few mins while they find a seat. Cause I know I'm not giving up my seat, and I know if they ask me I'll plainly say I'm tired too. And I know heads will turn, and I know how Canadians are, and I know I don't want to be the 'loud, angry black woman on the train as usual'. Ain't nobody got time for that.

This thread went to the left. I was expecting a peaceful discussion.
I suppose another question that could be asked is: 'do you give up your seat to elderly yts'? |
A peaceful discussion on BHM, about race? Never.

I have no issue with them, and my personal experiences with them have been generally positive/neutral. I have seen negative sides, but hey, that's life and that's people.
I don't treat people/act differently because of their race.
I also give many elderly people, some who happen to be white, my seat on a crowded bus etc. I do the same for pregnant women, people carrying a lot of ba ge, or even people who just look tired/like they had a bad day on rare occasion.

You are a good person. Random question: what if you were nice enough to give your seat up to the person of your choice and they didn't say thank you...how would you react?

I am honest but respectful. I call out racism, sexism and other isms at my job on the daily. They think I am militant and too PC. Eventually I may get fired for being so vocal but at 40 I just can't hold it in like I used to in my younger days.

I really do go out of my way for elderly blacks. I hold the door open for them, let them have my seat if there are none available and let them go in front of me in lines. I never do that for elderly whites though. They can wait behind me. I do subtle things like that. I don't go off at the mouth, I am friendly, but I will not accommodate them.
I also do this thing if a white person comes too close to me, I snatch my purse or backpack up close to my body all dramatic like.

I locked my door when they park next to me and look all... haven't done it in a while.. |
 yessss i love it!!

I have my yt voice. It's like I unconsciously turn it on when they're around. When I get around Black people again I go back to my real voice.
