I'm in need of a civil attorney. I'm having a problem with my university bc they dont know wtf theyre doing and only seems to do right/ what they're supposed to do when lawyers gets involved and threaten to sue. This wouldn't be the first, second or third time students had to bring lawyers up bc they're treating students like guinea pigs. I can go more in depth but I would love some legal advice on how to proceed and or get assistance to show up to the school with me to scare or threaten these people into finally doing right and grading correctly. They're f*cking up GPAs and scholarships over here bc they only want money. Smh

First, sorry for your troubles ScorpioLuv.

Second, I cannot give you legal advice over the net. No attorney worth even an ounce of salt would purport to do so. Without actually sitting down with you and knowing ALL of the ins-and-out of your problem, it would be impossible to do so.

That being said, if I were in your shoes, I'd look for an Education Law attorney. There are a lot of specialties in law. Education has a lot of rules, procedures, etc that require a specialist well versed in the administrative side of things. It's serpentine- like everything else.
I'd go for a shark to help you navigate your problem to a win.  Ask some of the folk, who sought representation and won, to give you the number of the attorney they used.

Be prepared. Compile everything germane to your situation and provide it to the attorney. Once your attorney contacts the school, they will no longer be able to speak to you directly about the issue. They'll have to go through your attorney and your attorney will then consult with you.

Understand that this will be expensive (unless you can find someone willing to do it pro bono.) But, don't let that stop you from seeking out an appointment. You may be able to get a free consult. A good attorney can tell you, in consult, whether or not she thinks you have a case. She can then tell you about fees and terms, etc.

Again, sorry for your troubles. Sometimes in this life folk make it harder than it has to be.
Good luck to you for sticking with it.

I was asking if anyone was a lawyer or knew someone so that I could've pm'ed for a phone number. Thank you for your advice. I'm def going to follow it. I'm trying to get information from my school now and I'm not getting answered. They've had rich white girls bring up their father's attorneys and everything finally gets handled. Idk wtf is wrong with LIU they used to be good at one point. I have too many credits wrapped up in this for me to just transfer , smh

GL Scorpio., I hope you get some advice/help.

The students shouldn't have to go thru all that.

Thank you very much. We shouldn't, it's sad that lawyers have to threaten to sue and NYC threaten to take away their accreditation but even after that's done, they still don't fix sh*t, smh
