I started to go to a new stylist for a weave. The weave turned out ok but after two weeks a lot of tracks started to unravel. I went back to her for a wash and style and of course she had to tighten some tracks that become loose. She charged me $20 extra for tightening the tracks. Am I cheap for thinking that she should not have charged?

most of my weaves are still tight after 2 months - so when it is time to tighten it's normally around my uninstall time to me 2 weeks shows a poor initial install and should have been free

No i normally go to the salon to wash my hair every 2 weeks and so if anything is coming out or loose she just tacks it real fast but she's never charged extra

If it was 3-4 weeks into the install, I expect to pay. However, if it is 1-2 weeks after the install I would discuss it as a quality issue. I would pay for the other style services if they were scheduled.

If I had to tighten after 2 weeks then I would do that for free. I actually have a 4 week guarantee for all my clients' installs because I think all sew-ins should last 4 weeks minimum before they loosen. Never had anyone take me up on it yet though (fingers crossed!)

I definitely agree with previous posts. I pay about $20 to get it tightened but I don't think you should have to after 2 weeks.

^this...I don't have to tighten, may adjust my closure once before takedown but haven't even had to do that lately.
