I liked the Original Kings of Comedy and Inside Man.
Just recently saw Red Hook Summer and hated it.

Girl that Red Hook Summer was confusing as hell! LOL The grandfather turn out to be a child molester? wtf |
I honestly thought it was some sort of student film.
The story didn't make sense. The mom says her son has to stay with grandpa because she's going on a trip. But then she's skyping the son from home.
And you find out later that grandpa gave his money (the money he got to move out of the town after he molested the boy) to his daughter and that's how she bought her house. So she knew he was a child molester but sent her son there anyway (and from the flashbacks he was definitely grandpa's "type").
And then the gangster dude whose mom used to be a church member when she was alive. It felt like the only point of having him in the movie was so that he could stomp out the pastor once they found out he was a molester.
And Spike made it a point to say that two of the older lady characters in the movie had kids who died from AIDS.
There were just so many things going on with the movie and the whole time I was just like, is there a point to putting these things in the story? I kept thinking he was going to make some kind of comment on the issues...but then he just didn't. Plus the molestation scene made me sick.
