This has happened to me also. I had 18-26in wavy that I've trimmed down to barely 18-19in.  I don't mind adding length after 2-3 years of wear.  It reduces my hair expense considerably.  By next year, I'll only replace closures and buy a bundle per texture here and there. My hair budget used to be $1000/year but now it's probably $300-$600 max and that's mostly due to closure purchases.

I've had the same three  20-24"  bundles of Wags NC installed back to back since March/April 09. Last Summer I added a coarser/curlier of a bundle of 16"-20" to the area around my leave out since hair dye for my grays has made my hair notieceable coarser. I now have those same bundles installed on a u-part that I made about 5 months ago.
I know that the wefts have thinned in the last 4 years and the hair is a lot curlier than it was when I 1st bought it but here lately it seems VERY short. My co-workers are asking me if I cut my hair. Out of curiousity, I JUST measured the installed wefts that have always hung the longest and stretched, one has never been cut because it was always on the bottom, it was the longest and it JUST measured only FOURTEEN inches.

Dahell?? I'm wondering , when wefts shed over time ,does the longer hairs sewn onto the wefts shed 1st?

I ordered a bundle of 24-28" last week to add another layer of length to my wig but it seems that it may be considerably longer than what I have now.

I will measure them wet and stretched out when I make another wig /including the new hair, but it can't make THAT much of a difference. Again, I stretched the hair when measuring.

This is so weird to me, esp when I look at pics from a few years ago. I love my Wags NC (obviously, they've gotten almost a mortgage payment from me in the last 4 yrs),but this disappearing length doesn't make sense.

Anyone else experience this or are aware of this happening?

i know exactly what you mean.. i just recently ordered another bundle to add to my wags nc from 2008 because it appears that i have lost some length overtime... but hey, i dont mind having to add lost length when my hair has given me 5 years.. hopefully it will give me 5 more lol
Shocked Hey Tami . Hug

I noticed this with some of the older pieces in my stash. I think its a combo of the longer hairs shedding and some breakage. I also tend to trim the hair a bit when installed to have a fuller (though not blunt) look on the ends. After a few installs I have to supplement and move those pieces to the top.

My worries were warranted..The 24/28 bundle I ordered is way too long. I can either return it for a shorter length or order a shorter bundle to fill in the gap in length. I should've measured the wig before ordering new hair. I actually need TWO bundles to do it right. I JUST spent $1200 on a plumbing repair so the idea of spending $400 on more hair isn't feasible. Once I saw that new bundle (measures 26"), I was so excited & thought maybe I'd get some cheaper "filler" hair from the BSS or Ashley Hair Company since she has a store you can pick your bundles yourself here in SA, but when I priced curly hair of the lengths I needed, I may as well spend 40-50 more $ & get Wagmans.

I can't really afford TWO more bundles so I'll probably return this beautiful bundle of 26" & exchange it for 20/24 & buy a 16/20.-

I haven't posted in about 2 years but I'm back. When I joined I was in the lace wig section but after a month I went back to my classic sew in weave, which I've been doing for about 25 years now. I lurked occasionally but only to get the latest and greatest tips. I had the same experience with Wags. Ordered about 15 ounces last year and have reinstalled it over and over adding a few extras from the same stash overtime. I recently noticed that the hair that started off at 18 inches is now almost shoulder length 10 to 14 inches. I thought I was crazy until my daughter mentioned how short my hair was looking, then I saw thread. Also, the hair is now looking dry and full of split ends. I believe I have the perfectress natural body. Won't be going down that road again, I got good use of it but time for another vendor. Wags is off my list.

Over time it does lose length, due to wear and coloringAngry

I don't believe that Wags hair is the issue. Like some other posters said, it happened w/other vendors and it makes sense when you think about it. Unlike our own hair that is constantly growing, usually (hopefully), faster than it's breaking, weave/wig hair isn't growing so it will get shorter. In my case, same hair for 4 YEARS, I'm def not complaining! lol. I just never thought about it and it seemed so sudden.
I'm a Wags girl for life unless they drastically change.

I ordered 2 oz of 16/20. (she said it measured 19" so that should be perfect).Luckily they had a half bundle left over. Not a normal thing because I asked for 2oz each of 16/20 & 20/24. They didn't have any 20/24. So I'm going to take this wig apart and measure all the lengths to get a full layered length that will graduate into 26". I may have to cut half of the 26" bundle to make it look right. Can't be rocking a mullet.

I think I can pull this off. One time my installer add a strip of netting at the bottom of my install that she sewed a weft onto to get my install to hang longer, like a flap extender that gave me about 2" of length. I just had planned to sew this u-part down because it's warming up and I LOVE wearing my hair up so that "flap" of added material may make that hard. I MAY just get another sew in install and go back to my u-part next time. I really miss my updos..If all else fails, I'll bite the bullet and buy another bundle of 20/24 or 24/28, knowing that in time, it will get shorter. When I get the 2oz tomorrow I'll be able to visiualize my plan of attack, lol.

Quality hair will last YEARS,so knowing that now, I will always order the next longer length and bundles of staggered lengths because it time, it will get shorter. my 1st order 4 yrs ago was 3 bundles of 20/24, if I knew then what I know now, I would've gotten a 24/28,20/24 and a 16/19.
