Can someone please post the name of the black Dermatologist that are in the NY and NJ area that was posted a couple months ago? I can't seem to get the search to work to help me find the information.

I'm so desperate to get something done that I'm willing to travel to get it done by someone who is use to dealing with African American skin type.

Thanks.

I have ugly dark spots that I cover up with concealer make-up on my chin area from tweezing hairs (I can't stand to see them - and tweezing although scars the skin - hence my condition - it really is the only thing that I gets rid of them all !!)

Have you tried lemon? Many people on this forum have had great success using lemon or baking soda to fade dark spots. I know it can be frustrating using concealers etc... Are there any products that you have tried and they failed?
Vit E oil with a very high IU fades spots gradually. I do not have experience with tweezing scars... I would probably google "tweezing scars" and see what has worked for others. Also the beauty forum on craigslist is extremely helpful. Good luck with your Derm. visit!

I am currently a patient of Dr. Downie. I see her for dark spots. I have been to her office twice. The first consultation I had at Dr. Downie’s office I was seen by the physician’s assistant and then Dr. Downie came in the room for a few minutes. It was the physician’s assistant who wrote 1st prescription. The second time I went to the office I never saw Dr. Downie at all the physician’s assistant wrote my prescription and gave me a chemical peel.

So be prepared not to see Dr. Downie on all of your office visits.

I have had 2 b-lift (20% salacylic acid) peels (spaced 4 weeks apart).

I honestly cannot pass judgment at this time.
