I too wondered why the word killed was being used.
I believe it Purp. Many times it's assignments and research that flips/opens your mind on a subject.

Mine was a debate, btw. At the time, Oregon was IT. Presently NJ is a possible 3rd after Washington.

My emotions are mixed but they lived and died the way they wanted to. They were at peace with themselves and happy as well so...

I do not agree with the bold at all. This type of permanent procedure should only be available to consenting adults and their health care providers, imagine if this were legal in the US how many children who are being bullied over here would opt out like this? The numbers would be sky high for such a temporary problem.

Minors can become terminally ill as well...if they're slowly and painfully dying then they too ought to have the right end their suffering.

If a person is terminally ill and in immense pain, then I can understand.  Deaf and going blind; not so much.

Everyone deserves the right to die.
The living are very selfish.
People always want someone to not do something so they don't get their lil' feelings hurt.
It ain't about you sweetie....they have their lives and you have yours.

The right to die concept is one I wish more people would embrace. It's not my place to tell someone in pain or a diminished quality of life that they have to carry that burden. They deserve that control and their end should be painless and peaceful.
