...is there really a difference btw dead ends and split ends???? my mama is always clipping her ends bc her hair is "dead" but when i look at her ends they look fine....i'm confused.....wtf is she talkin about???Confused

maybe she should use a good conditioner as opposed to scissors???

aren't your ends "dead" once they split? or maybe she just means damaged?

Hair is not alive once it has grown out of the follicle.

Perhaps she has damaged ends.

I think she means damaged = dead.  Dry ends just need moisture and TLC.

lol your hair isn't a living thing at all, it's just protein. So your ends can't really be dead, but they can be damaged and split. If she doesn't wash often enough or uses heat too often then that could be why she has problems with her "dead ends."

All hair is dead. I think she either means that her ends are damaged or... I knew a girl who used "dead ends" just to mean that they weren't "fresh" or hadn't been trimmed in a while.
