LOL. Y'all were shytting on non AA blacks for a long time. It's cooling down now, but only because the numbers are up and it's harder to keep that shyt up. But most non AA blacks who grew up in the States had to deal with shyt. Not trying to be antagonistic and confrontational, but it's the truth.

im very good at doing this. I mean you can see someone from ethiopia and know they are ethiopian. It happens. I see folks and know they are from ghana or sierra leone. I have an eye for that. 
 
I know it happens. Even with some haitians. But the difference is that haitians were enslaved. That means we came from different tribes. Therefore to assume that there is a haitian look makes no sense, even though we are less mixed than other islands due to our history. For the most part, what people perceive as a haitian look is a way of being and carrying oneself.
No one is saying there is a particular Haitian look. We are saying that many times you can look at someone and know if they are Haitian or not. That's all. I think you're going deeper into this than you need to LOLLOLLOL

Haitians are not a "tribe". We're from different tribes from all over the African continent, just like AA's. So to say that haitians have a look and jamaicans have another look doesn't make any damn sense. What's racist is a lot of AA's assumptions of what haitians are supposed to look like. It kinda get on my nerves. There's a reason all these artists are "in the closet", like someone stated earlier and that they would feel that they have to hide their ethniticity to make it just pisses me the hell off.


You're getting extra defensive when there is no need. No one has insulted Haitians or their looks. Yes, there is a general look that all ethnic groups have, so what makes Haitians any different?

I'm getting defensive because some of y'all JUST DON'T GET how ignorant the reasoning behind it all actually is. Insecure, definitely not. I'm haitian and proud (truth be told, I'm only half haitian, but I'm still proud!) If I'm gonna throw the insecurity card, I'd look at who is constantly trying to claim some type of injun or what not. And the funny thing is, those AA Beyonce type creoles that y'all love so much, most of them have haitian ancestry. That puts me in stitches

That's like getting mad for someone saying blacks generally have brown skin and tight black curly hair. You'd be the one in the background with a burning pitchfork hollering they're ignorant because some blacks have fair skin and straight hair too lol

I've never been surprised when someone told me they were Haitian.  it's usually like Ricky Martin coming out of the closet.  it was just a matter of fact statement to tell me about their family, no scandal, no big reveal....I didn't think it was a "thing".  Luckily, I wasn't raised in a place where that mattered.

And French. Creole is a mixture of French, african languages, some spanish and some english peppered in there. We were enslaved by the French, just like English-speaking west indians were enslaved by the British
