it would make sense since the islands are small so it's easier for certain genetic make-up to get passed around. my great grandfathers family is from the south and we have a specific last name. My aunt told me when I meet someone with that last time 90% they are family. PRob had the same plantation owners

True. The majority of the time, I can look at someone and know if they are haitian, or etc.
I don't know why, many of us(nigerians, jamaicans, trinis, ghanians, etc.) can just tell when someone is from the same background or another one...

You know what, though? A lot of the time, it has more to do with the way a person dresses, speaks and carries herself. I bet if that Future dude dressed and carried himself more like a person born and raised in Haiti, people would have known right away that he was haitian. A lot of haitians in the States that are born and raised in the States, you cannot really tell until they tell you.
