Hello All!
I am new to the forum and would like some advice. I am considering Custom Crowns weave hair. Has anyone used it? I am mixed between the Nequai and Siren Silky Straight. I like a straight look but not thin straight hair... Also, has anyone used the Harmony Curls? I would get some of that kind for a different look sometimes. The website looks beautiful. How does the hair hold up? Have you had any frizzing/tangling issues? Thank you all for any and all replies!

Hello!

I ordered hair from Custom Crowns in 2002. I ordered the Nequai Straight because it looked most like relaxed hair. When I received it, only one of the 3 packages looked like relaxed hair. Instead of sending it back, I used it anyway....Well, the hair looked like a BSS hair once I put it in and it did tangle. I remember when I went to get some layers cut into it, the stylist combed through it and still had to comb each section before he could cut it. I kept that hair maybe about a week or two and took it out. From my understanding, the company has since regrouped and is now using a different supplier than before due to complaints from customers. I would advise you to see if they can or will send you a sample before investing in it.

Happy Weaving,

Mona

Thank you Mona. I will try and do that because it's certainly not cheap! Candyland, The website is http://www.customcrowns.com/

Essence magazine gives them rave reviews but then I found out they are somehow affiliated with them...I am getting nervous about it now after hearing the replies!

You are welcome Sareya!!!

The owner of Custom Crowns is Shana Taylor King. She is the daughter of Essence magazine former editor Susan Taylor.  I wish I had thought to request a sample before ordering the amount I did! I had to take it as a lesson learned.

I went to the Custom Crowns salon with a friend, like last year. I liked the curly hair on the website..but when we went up there, dem chics had da nerve to charge MORE at the salon than on the web, PLUS it did not look like the pretty hair on the women on the site...

Just my opinion..b/c I have never worn it, but I'd leave it alone.

OK!!!!
The verdict is in! I don't think that I will get this Custom Crown Hair Weave. Since I have not seen it myself on a person and there are negative replies I can't afford to risk the money on this one. I am just sooo sick of the ones I have used in the past that are not good. Sensationnel gets tangled and puffy (yaki). Would any of you know of a quality brand even if it is selling in the beauty supply that is good or at least won't tangle and frizz on the first wash lol. I have used Hollywood brand and also Milky Way. Milky Way is okay but I find it sheds and is on the thin side sometimes.

Thanks again everyone!
