Hey Everyone! I have recently decided to go natural. Although, I only want to go through with it if I can wear my hair curly without putting tons of chemicals on it. I have a natural wave pattern to my hair. My hair type is a 4a. A lot of people asked me why I relaxed my hair in the first place but I fell into the pressure of having straight hair. My hair is so thick and gets very frizzy when dry. If I could find some kind of remedy to define the natural curls in my hair without damaging it I would be soooo freakin happy lol.

If you have any suggestions please let me know.
I'm open to anything as long as my hair doesn't fall out of my head lol.
Please reply and Thanks for reading!Smile

Hello! How are you?Tongue

Good luck on going in natural! I have been natural all my life (but I plan on getting a curly perm so lol). But anyways here is my advice I have been through YEARS worth of products all for that coveted curl.

Just one thing, if you don't see curls in your head all ready then you won't get curls without some manipulation. for example, if you hair is like this:
http://www.cherrylola.com/images/amino%20acid%20treatment/My%20Texture%20unhandled.png
or even like this (my sisters is like this)
http://yougocurl.com/images/nia_front.jpg

You will be able to define your curls. My sister when doing here hair using a shampoo and a good conditioning conditioner. Then when she gets out she adds a leave in condition and uses a curl activator gel in order to help the curls stay. There are many different curl activators out there, a bit of research will help you in that deparment and maybe invest in an anti frizz shampoo or spray.

Also doing styles like twists outs and bantu knots can help with your curly goal, google them for more info.

Lastly if those don't work I heard of some products that should help "enhance and stretch your curls if you have them"

http://www.naturalaxer.com/

or

http://www.curlmart.com/Curly-Hair-Solutions-EXTENZZ-p-1079.html

or

http://www.xenna.com/curlaway.html

but if your hair is like this:

with no defined curl pattern, more of a z pattern then a S curl, then the only way for curls is either roller setting and night, flexi rods and gel, or twist outs and bantu knots.

Hope this helps!

It's early...

I was trying to ask how do I determine what kind of curl pattern I have?

Well, you have to check your natural hair. Take a look at a strand of hair, or I don't know if you hair is chemical treated or not, if so, look at your new growth.

Here is an article on Z pattern hair!

^_^ But most often you will be able to SEE a curl pattern in your hair if you have one. It can be tiny tiny corkscrews or ringlets, or small s curls

I don't have z pattern hair.  I actually have curly hair like in an S-pattern.  For years I've had beauticians tell me that I should stop perming my "good hair."  I don't do hair so I never understood what they were talking about UNTIL I stopped perming my hair last November.  It is very curly when I come out the shower.  But when it dries it's not as curly as it was when I got out of the shower.  So I'm wanting a product that can help me keep my curls ALL day.  The Extenzee looks like it can.

I have a natural curl pattern and yesterday before work I washed and conditioned my hair and applied Infusium 23 Leave In and a frizz serum (forgot the name and too lazy to go see) and then I put my hair in a pony tail and when it dried I had pretty ringlets.
