The OP is funny to me cause my roommate is from India and he always offers me food when he cooks. Each time I've been like Sick. Not sure if he can't cook or if Indian food is just nasty, but I think it's just nasty because his cooking smells so good.

i'll have to find a jamaican spot in the A

IGS you can go to a few restaurants on Memorial Drive. Cool Runnings and this other spot I go to across the street from the pink $50 weave shop next to the church's chicken has the bomb oxtail rice and peas. These spots don't compare to the Jamaican spots up in the Bronx on Whiteplains road. Bup Bup Bup ***sprays color in my hair and hikes up me pum pum shorts so my butt cheeks can show.***

Hard to say but I do appreciate cultures that incorporate a lot of vegetables herbs in spices (to a point) in their cuisine.  So in short, I am sure most folk cooking is great.

Cool Runnings sucks. My dad's friend owns the place and it's all Somalians working there (same thing at Island Cafe). Nothing turns me more off than when a place has people who are not even from that culture cooking the food...

Anyway, being that I am so accostomed to Jamaican food, does anyone consider Patties to be fattening? I looking for healthier Jamaican food options. I think saltfish and ackee would do though

It seems like most Caribbean and Latin American food is fattening...
