I can't remember where I read this (possibly here) but is it true that the africans sent to cuba as slaves were kept together?

because families and communities remained "in tact", it was easier for them to hold on to their cultural mores and traditions?

whereas this wasn't the case for AA's?
Sho wasn't.Ouch

They purposely split up slaves in the states/colonies to prevent us from communicating and plotting to escape slavery. Culture and traditions got lost and some managed to get passed along in secrecy.

I want to watch this documentary too.

Whilst many Cubans of Spanish descent have rushed to seek out their ancestry—and passports—Afro-Cubans have been far less anxious to do the same.

scornful.

But they tell themselves slavery didn't happen.

This white bish i worked with told me i should forget about slavery and that it happened a long time ago...bare in mind that in that conversation i never spoke about slavery or race...i think a black person pissed her off that day.

Next time they mention the titanic i'll tell them to get over it.
