I just got crochet braids. I like the style but the hair is too thick for me. Is there anything I can do to flatten the hair? The lady who did it used 3 packs...i only wanted 2 but she kept telling me that i needed it. She told me to buy some mousse.....but what about gel will that flatten the hair?

You will have to remove some of the pieces of braids (cut them out), or undo the knots if you can. You can also use products like s-curl gel activator to tame it.
3 packs of hair?Shocked. thats wild. Never listen to a stylist when you feel uncomfortable with something.
You do NOT need 3 packs of hair for crochets.
those are crochet braids in my avi, and i only used 1.5 packs of hair.

I had this same problem with the crochet braids i just put in. i used waaaayyyy too much hair and it looked crazy. I did remove quite a few strands last night to thin it out, but it still looked too puffy. After reading this post, i dampened it with water and added some vo5 conditioner pretty liberally and voila! it looks great! Thanks for the tip, babygirl!

ladies check out my crochet braids video on youtube....that was my first attempt a while back

3 PACKS THOUGH?? That is way too much. I use freetress hair and use about one and a half packs and that is even a full look for me in the water wave bulk. You really should remove some to give it a more natural look, it shouldnt be packed onto the braid especially the sides and the bottom.

I never use product on it either just a light oil sheen and occasional moisturizer.

Hope this helps
