FANTASTIC! I am so loving crochet braids.  I purchased the hair from hairsisters.com.  I Mix of Gogo and Candy Curl, Colors 1B/30.  We used 5 bags total for crochet braids. This hair is long. It came to my butt and it was heavy; had it cut bit past my shoulder.  After cut hair is light weight and easy to care for. I've had in about 3 weeks and it still looks nice.

In future, I will use 3 bags b/c I'll have braids cut in half and crochet.  It frizzes a bit but I use weave detangler and Beyond the Zone to whip curls back into shape. I put on satin cap or braid hair into two plaits--thus far no issues and many compliments.

I use Hicks Transformation Smooth Edges to lay my edges down.  I usually apply in the morning and it does fine.  FYI: Pics were taken at night after I had washed my braids.

PLEASE HONEST FEEDBACK--NO LIES!!

I just crochet-braided this sunday as well and i am loving it so far...no hair left out without the restricive feel of  a sew-in --i can feel my scalp and thats good...
I'm definitely going to keep doing this as a protective style.

I like it. It looks good. One question I have is how is going having the two different curl patterns? I would be nervous that they would tangle.

Like Godslady I also think it looks like tree braids.

Another question: Has any of the hair slipped out? Or is it secured with a knot?

Yes, I LOVES me some curly hair and based on your idea with the straw set and braiding hair.  My style is about to go from 5.99 a bag to .99 a bag.

I so agree about being "free" with the crochet braids.  It took her 2.5 hours to cornrow and put in the hair.  This is going to be MY staple hairstyle.  Next, I am going to try to do an afro using the crochet braid methods.  At least this kinky hair will hold a fro in place.

That was by acccident.  I ended up purchase 3 bags of the GoGo Curl.  Then the ladies on the board suggested to take 6 bags (just in case).  The company was out of stock for GoGo Curl so I just purchased the Candy Curl.   I have not had any issues with tangling.  Honestly, the curl patterns to me (and the braider) looked EXACTLY the same.  We stared and examined the two and actually didn't see any difference.

Like Godslady I also think it looks like tree braids.

Nope, not a one
.

Or is it secured with a knot?
I have no knots, they are in the exact same way we used to input old school crochet braids.  For extra security, one can tie in a knot.

I think they're pretty. How many cornrows did you put in your hair?
