Topic: CP Time BBQs Posted: Sep 01 2014 at 8:01pm |
Happy Labor Day! A potna of mine said he was hosting a labor day bbq from 2-8 (granted folks gotta work in the morning). He's notorious for cooking late, and only a few pieces of meat at a time, so I figure showing up at 5:30 would even things out. I get there, he's got 2 chicken legs, 3 burgers, and 2 sausages on the grill all not done. I sat there for about 5 min then left. I went to Jack n the Box for a burger then back to the crib. Complete waste of time. Should I have pointed out his fatal bbq flaws?

You should tell him. I hate when people throw a BBQ but ask everyone to bring a dish. That's a potluck, not a BBQ! Tacky.

LoL, I told him I was going to bend a few corners real quick. And yes, we were instructed to bring sides dishes. I'm usually the one hosting and the most I tell folks to bring is Ice. I just don't understand what is the point of entertaining if you can't entertain. I'm usually up BBQ'ing all morning so that my sh*t is done and warming/glazing in the oven by the time guests arrive. Sometimes I fee like maybe its too much to expect people to have the same standards as I, but damn

Tru, while I feel you I have to say that's your boi, you knew what it was. I feel like you, bring yoself!! If you drink then BYOL but it should be on the host.
That said, of my peeps I know who's toilet I won't use, who's kids are lil badasses and who stay inviting people over for dinner but can't cook.... I'm just terribly sorry you had to eat Jack in the Box on Labor Day
