Tasty, aww why not? How long did you style hair after school? My goal, is to really learn how to deal with hair of other races because it can be quite baffling to deal with all those fly aways. I've never touched Asian hair, but I imagine that would be difficult as well. I love quirky people! (Maybe I am biased because I am quirky too) The professor sounds cool. I hope I have cool professors. |
I was an assistant for about a year and a half at 2 different salons and I had a chair for about a year or so. The first one I hated because I was literally just a shampoo girl. I could braid, but they wouldn't even give me those clients, and I wasn't learning anything. The second was a good salon that actually let me do stuff, and I got offered a chair at another salon. So, I started working there and had so much trouble building a book because the other chicks would take a lot of the walk-ins. Nor would they let the shampoo girls assist me. I hated that salon and I think that put a serious bad taste in my mouth about doing hair. Oh-I also didn't like giving somebody 50% of what I made (I'm in NJ and we can't rent chairs here)
I don't think I did any asian hair, but I had a lot of white and spanish girls come in at the school. I was always requested by the black ladies and ALL of the weave clients (white, black or spanish)

Pedicures

I hate feet. Nobody really came in requesting them so I never did one in school. I can't remember what I did for boards, but I think they cut my test short because of time.
