Cosmetology Talk

Sooo I am a licensed dental hygienist and it definitely has its pros and drawbacks. Anyway, I moved to a state where I can't use my license. I won't be here forever because I love to move and travel and i'd love to use my dental hygiene license again BUT in the meanwhile I enrolled in cosmetology school because it has been a dream for a while but i was scared. Has anyone attended cosmetology school, dropped out, gotten their hair done at a learning institution etc. What are some things you liked or didn't?

I'm just hoping to create a dialogue on the subject.

It's overall, so makeup, hair, skin, nails but the concentration is on hair... All types of hair

I'm confused. Attended then dropped out. .... I finished school and I went back to have newbies shampoo and flat iron me. ...I guess I'm not understanding what you're asking

Cosmetology school is designed to give students the basics, to pass the state board exam. The course includes Anatomy, Chemistry, Electricity, practical.  The course will concentrate more so on hair, rather than skin, make up, and nails.  There is a course for nails, in some states it is for two months.  The number of hours varies by state, as to how much is needed to take the Cosmetology State Board Exam. 

A lot of things Cosmetologists learn on their own.   I know that you will be good at it.  Good luck

Sorry for the confusion 510. I am just looking to hear what cosmetology school is like for the people who went, hear drop out stories and why they ppl dropped out, to see if anyone goes to get their hair done at a learning institute and what they liked or disliked etc. or anything related to the subj.
