we should do a thread on this ... how would you budget your groceries to last a month
I have an idea on what I would buy but then again I don't know how much the monthly allowance is or if it varies from state to state or county to county

it depends on your income if you are a working class person the max that you can get for yourself is $200
for 2 is $367 3 is $526 4 is $668 5 is $793 6 is $952 7 is $1052 8 is 1202 and add $150 for each person after
that's the maximum amount, rarely do people max out because they count your income also. so if you're making minimum wage you wont get the full amount alot of times unless you have a ton of other expenses

Amusing story, when I worked as a student worker for the DCFS we had alot of wealthy white women come in and say that their husband left them but he took care of the kids needs (clothes etc) and paid all the bills but he didnt buy food. those women would get their benefits and go bout their way

he didn't have to do it at all
most everyone can last on a diet for a week and then "gorge/catch up" the next week like wtf was that
but to last a month is something different
I wouldn't want people to do a week and then feel like it's no big deal because I did it for a week and lived
