Condola Rashad To Co-Star On Fox Drama Series ‘Hieroglyph’

Condola Rashad, coming off her starring turn opposite Orlando Bloom in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway, has been tapped to co-star in Fox‘s 13-episode series Hieroglyph.

Produced by 20th TV and Chernin Entertainment, Hieroglyph, which is eyed for next season, is set in ancient Egypt, where fantasy and reality intertwined. It follows a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers.

Condola will play Nefertari, the Pharaoh’s half-sister with a rare beauty that intimidates even the strongest of suitors… and she knows it. Executive producing are creator Travis Beacham, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Miguel Sapochnik, who will direct the premiere episode.

Reece Ritchie(Pharaoh)

No word on who will play the thief.

I guess the success of 'Scandal' and 'Sleepy Hallow' are really opening doors for Black women Clap

*shocked* that they're using POC to play ancient Egyptians

It's interesting to me how black women on tv seem to do well on science fiction shows. It's almost if they are way more comfortable with us if the perception is that we're so exotic, we're not even like regular humans.

Anyway, I love her so I will be watching.

I love Sleepy Hollow!  I think it took them a while to get the chemistry going, but over all, it has been a pretty good show.
