I mix my coconut oil together with glycerin and sometimes add honey for a treatment once a week.  Works GREAT.

Your can also use VERY little as a heat protectant if you are blow dry or flat ironing your hair.
and also on your ends to seal. You just have to know how much is enough for your hair.

Thats what I do, I put it on my ends to make them less frizzy

I use coconut oil for EVERYTHING! I'm obsessed with it, lol! I use it in:

wet or dry hair
in my moisturizing shampoo mix that also includes honey and glycerin
as a pre-poo with aloe vera gel and something else but I cant remember right now
as an oil-rinse with olive oil
as a treatment with silk peptide protein powder
as one part of my moisture/seal routine
when I make my skin lotions
my lipcare products
cooking
my green tea for melting belly-fat
EVERYTHING!
I keep bottles and bottles of it on hand!

Coconut oil is not toxic to the human body. It is an edible fatty acid and these are typically the least likely to be toxic to us and our pets.Coconut oil is like any other food. If you are someone who happens to be allergic to it, you shouldn't eat it. However, coconut oil is not on the list of foods people are often allergic to like nuts, wheat, eggs, dairy, etc.

I use it to moisturize my hair, skin and nails. During the winter/ cooler days, it does tend to solidify in my hair outdoors but it softens as soon as I go indoors.

PS I use 365 Virgin Coconut Oil from Whole Foods. It's about $7 for a 14oz jar, cold expelled  plus, it smells as well as tastes delicious.

my hair is kinda dry so coconut oil daily is not an option for me
i have tried and my hair looked greasy
so i use it as a "sunscreen" for my hair and even if i swim at the beach, my hair looks moisturized, and it has a nice shine
